Obituary

Yvette M. Tardif, 95, formerly of Grattan St. Fall River, wife of the late Jules Tardif and the late Girard Caouette, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Elie and Leontine (Gendreau) Messier.  Yvette was true to her faith. She lived most of her adult life in Fall River and was a parishioner of Notre Dame Parish.  Yvette retired from St. Anne’s Hospital in 1996, where she worked as an LPN for 27 years.

After her retirement, she took a part-time position as a telephone receptionist at St. Anne’s Credit Union, retiring in 2009. She then became a volunteer at St. Anne’s Hospital. 

She is survived by two children, Diane Caouette (husband Daniel O’Brien) and Ronald Caouette (late wife Terry); three grandchildren, Lannon Goslin, Samuel and Abbie Caouette; a sister, Claire Allard (late husband Joseph); and many nieces and nephews. Yvette was the sister of the late Donald Messier, Juliette Faris, Colette Messier, Therese Messier, Cecile Messier, Andre Messier, Paul Messier and Donald Messier.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023

 at 10:00 AM  at St.Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St. Fall River.
