Teresa C. (Paiva) Gaspar, 84, of Tiverton, passed into eternal life Monday, October 23, 2023.
She was the wife of Antone J. Gaspar. They shared 63 years of marriage.
Teresa was born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores and was the daughter of the late Jose Mauricio De Paiva and Maria da Conceição (Tavares) Paiva. She came to the United States when she was 18 years old. She was employed by Louis Hand for 30 years as a seamstress.
Teresa will be remembered as a loving, caring, selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She helped raise her grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking for her family and friends.
Besides her husband, Teresa leaves three children, Theresa Magellan (husband James), JoAnne Chace Brown (husband Steven) and Rev. Deacon David Gaspar (wife Alison); ten grandchildren, Jessica Teixeira, Nessa Mage, Brett Magellan, Joshua Chace, Jocelyn Chace, Tyler Gaspar, Ava Gaspar, Grace Gaspar, Sara Brown and Courtney Womack; seven great-grandchildren, four siblings, Maria Salsinha (late husband Antonio), Constance Smith (husband Everett), Joseph Gaspar (wife Lucy) and Antonio Paiva (wife Mary); numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.
Her funeral will be held Monday, October 30, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
