Shirley M. Martin

Shirley M. Martin, 88, of Fall River, passed into eternal rest Friday, April 12, 2024. She was the lifetime companion of the late Germaine R. “Mems” Poulin for 30 years.

Shirley was employed at the Y.M.C.A. Fall River for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She enjoyed walks, animals, reading, traveling, shopping and dinner with friends.  Shirley adored children.  Her pride and joy was spending time with her second family, The Sullivans.  She was active at St. Mary’s Cathedral, including being a member of its seniors club.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Martin and Gertrude M. (Banks) Martin Canuel and the sister of the late Thomas H. Martins, Jr. She leaves nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St. at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
