Sheila Jean (Murphy) Stansfield

Sheila Jean (Murphy) Stansfield, 84, of Swansea, passed away July 16, 2022.

She was the wife of Gilbert Fred Stansfield. They shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Dighton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Ryan) Murphy.

Sheila was employed by Duro Finishing.  A catholic woman of faith, she belonged to and volunteered at St. Michael’s Parish and St. Dominic’s Parish, both in Swansea.

Besides her husband, Sheila leaves three children, 

David Stansfield of Fall River, Elizabeth Cardin (husband Marc) and their sons Andrew and Nicholas of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Gilbert Stansfield (wife Candace) and their sons Aodhan, Thaire and Eoin of Dighton; five siblings, James Murphy (wife Terry) of Bristol, Richard Murphy (wife Patricia) of Westport, Edward Murphy of Florida, Linda Renard (husband Robert of Swansea and Donna Lepage (husband David) of Swansea.

Sheila was the sister of the late Margaret Masse (late husband Edgar), Mary Eney (late husband Earle), Barbara Ann Fleck (late husband John) and John Murphy (wife Carolyn of Dighton).

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation which will be held  Monday morning, July 18, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River with a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00 NOON . Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery will be private.
