Rita M. (Kelly) Cavanaugh

          Rita M.(Kelly) Cavanaugh, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Henry J. Cavanaugh, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

          Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John and Lauretta (Caouette) Kelly, she lived in Ansonia and Derby, CT for 15 years, returning to Fall River in the early 1970’s. A member of the Third Baptist Church of Fall River, she enjoyed listening to Gospel music.

          She was the mother of  James E. “Jim” Cavanaugh, Robin A. Vieira and Lorie A. Moore,  Brenda Medeiros (husband Paul) and the late Joeanne Cavanaugh; grandmother of Dawn Cavanaugh, Jennifer Cavanaugh, Heather Vieira, Joshua Wood, Shayla Campbell, Ryver Cavanaugh, Kierra Medeiros and the late James E. Cavanaugh Jr.; great-grandmother of Chelsie Stephenson, Darron Tucker, Aidon Pina, Craigory DoRego, David Freitas, Alex jr and Aruis Igreja; great-great grandmother of Jahmier, Kyren, Nash and Emry Stephenson; sister of the late Ronald and Richard Kelly. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

          A visitation will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.

         Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with burial following at Oak Grove Cemetery, Prospect St. Fall River.
