Richard A. Laprise, 67, of Fall River, husband of Diane C. (Labouliere) Laprise, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021.
A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam war and a member of the DAV, he was the owner and operator of Al's Variety Store. He enjoyed working in the yard, fishing, talking with anyone who would listen and constantly telling jokes. He was a proud pépère and father and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. As a jack of all trades, he enjoyed fixing anything that need being fixed, even if it didn't need fixing.
Besides his wife of 40 years, he leaves five children, Thomas R. Laprise (wife Stacey) of Lewis Center, OH, Amy Quicho (husband Noel) of Tiverton, RI, Nicole Turgeon (husband Matthew) of Dighton, Jodie Laprise of Fall River and Richard A. Laprise II (wife Kaitlyn) of Middleboro; six grandchildren, Tyler, Allison, Zachary, Emma, Hannah and Benjamin; six siblings, Lorraine Silva, Muriel Imondi, Paulette "Pat" Levesque, Michael Laprise, Denise Lariviere and Paul Laprise and many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Alexis and Lauren Laprise and the son of the late Albert C. and Rhea (Mercier) Laprise.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 28th at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
