Rene G. Belanger

          Rene G. Belanger, 85, of Westport, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  He was the beloved husband of Aline (Bileau) Belanger.  A wonderful father, grandfather, he  loved spending time with family and friends.  An avid fisherman, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, volunteered at Bingo and was passionate about collecting donations for charities.  He also served in the National Guard.

          Besides his loving wife of 60 wonderful years, he leaves three children, Rose Marie Oliveira, Anne Marie Rezendes and Rene G. Belanger, Jr.; four grandchildren, Emily, Abigail “Abby”, Austin and Jesse; four sisters, Rita Lachapelle, Marie Berube, Cecile Thibault and Bertha Baillargeon, many nieces and nephews.  He was the son of the late Leo G. and Delia (St.Pierre) Belanger and the brother of the late Arthur Belanger, Henry Belanger and Doris Roy.

          A Mass will be celebrated in his memory Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Road, Westport.
