Marilyn “Lynne” M. Ogden, 84, of Tiverton, formerly of Newport and East Greenwich Rhode Island passed away on September 15, 2023. She was the daughter of Rose and Frank Maxim. She was predeceased by her partner of twenty-five years, Mary “Mickey” Totas.
Lynne graduated from Cumberland High School and went on to work as a secretary for the Providence Journal, State of Rhode Island, and CODAC- Behavioral Services. She was extremely fortunate to have travelled around the world and also visited Florida and Alaska. She loved photography and took many wonder photos of her travels.
Lynne gave unselfishly of her time and had the exceptional ability to listen and seemed to intuitively know just what to say. She was incredibly grateful and always appreciative when someone thought of her with the simplest things such as a phone call, a card or a sweet treat.
She had many animals throughout her life including cats, fish, bunnies and birds but her Bichons, Riley and Sammy filled her life with such joy.
The last several years of Lynne’s life were complicated with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and recently cancer. She managed all of it with grace, dignity and an incredible sense of humor and gallons and gallons of ice cream her favorite flavor, peanut butter.
Lynne had a handful of very special people in her life including her oldest and dearest friend Shirley Ribeiro, Shirley’s daughter, Judy Cosby, her friend Carol Chase and her favorite young person and best friend, Anne Brown. Each of these women loved and helped her in so many ways especially these last few years.
