Mariano F. DeMelo

Mariano Farias DeMelo, 84, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at home with his family by his side.

He was the husband of Maria F. (Almeida Botelho) Melo. 

Born in Santo António, Ponta Delgada, Azores, he was the son of Manuel Carvalho DeMelo and Ana Soares (Farias) DeMelo.

He was employed in the construction industry with Local 610.

Mariano enjoyed tending to his garden, growing cucumbers, tomatoes and kale. He would often take walks to the market and bakery.

Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves his daughter, Ana Melo; his two grandchildren, Amber Nelson and Tom Nelson; his two siblings Conceição Britto and Agostinho DeMelo and was the brother of the late Maria Aguiar, Jeremias DeMelo and Manuel DeMelo;  

He also leaves nieces and nephews.
