Maria Luisa (Carreiro) Tavares

Maria Luisa (Carreiro) Tavares, 93, of Fall River, wife of the late Humberto Tavares, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021.

        A machine operator, she retired from Merit Manfacturing. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

        She leaves four children, Artie Borges of Fall River, Gustavo Tavares and his wife Margaret of Assonet, Mary Lou Pacheco and her husband Luis of Westport and Edward Tavares and his wife Paula of Riverside, RI; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margarida C. Carvalho of Tiverton and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Guilhermina (Ricardo) Carreiro and the sister of the late Luis Carreiro and Eduarda Pacheco.

        A visitation will be held Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Burial, St. Patrick's Cemetery.
