Margaret "Peggy" (Croft) Leger

    Margaret “Peggy” (Croft) Leger, 91, of Fall River, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Leger.  

    Born in Fall River, Peg was the daughter of the late Alfred O. Croft and Margaret Alice Theresa (Gray) Croft.

     A dedicated member of the former Sacred Heart Parish, Peggy was a Eucharistic minister, lector, greeter and past President of the Women’s Guild,  teacher in the Parish Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and a religious education coordinator.  A graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy , she was a Past President of the  Alumnae Association , President of the Fall River District Council of Catholic Women and recipient of the Marian Medal.  For many years, she was the  director of the Greater Fall River Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Inc. 

     She was the mother of Kathleen M. Moniz (husband James), Joani F. Leger, Kenneth P. Leger (wife Cheryl), Mary Louise Ferreira (husband Brian), Matthew G. Leger (wife Leanne) and the late Andrew W. Leger; Grandmother of  Christopher Moniz, Bryan Moniz, Jennifer Barlow, Michael Leger and Andrew M. Leger and the late Melissa Leger and Paige E. Leger; great-grandmother of Evan, Nathaniel, Kate Elizabeth, Liam and Mackenzie; sister of Alfred “Crofty” Croft and Frances MacDonald; many nieces and nephews.  

     Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.  Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., at 10:00 AM.  Burial, St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
