Leonel Branco

Leonel Branco, 78, of New Bedford, husband of Maria C. (Oliveira) Branco, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019.

    A former employee of Roma Color and Bristol Knitting Mills, he was a member of the Fall River Sports Club and enjoyed soccer, fishing, gardening and cooking.

    Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves eight children, Ana Campos (Dennis) of Dartmouth, Belmira Garcia (Carlos) of Somerset, Antonio Branco (Ana) of Fall River, Leo Costa (Billy) of CT, Susana Batista (Joe) of Swansea, Jose Branco (Erin) of Fall River, Paula McKay (Randy) of New Bedford and Claudia Garcia (Carlos) of CT; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Corey, Matthew, Brittney, Kameron, Crissa, Tyler, Gavin and Zoe; two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Austin and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Brendon Garcia and the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Bandarra) Branco.

    His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

    A visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
