Leonardo R. Lugo, 34, of New Bedford, formerly of Fall River, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, after a long illness. He was the husband of Reneé L. (Almond) Lugo. Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, the son of Natalia Gutierrez and the late Reyes Lugo, he moved to Massachusetts in 2001.
He was employed by Bay State AFC LLC of Fall River Massachusetts, where he served as a care manager in the adult foster care industry. Previously, he had worked for People, Inc. Leonardo cherished time spent with his family and his pug, “Sophie”. He loved to travel and play XBox.
Besides his wife and his mother, he leaves five children, Reynaliz M. Lugo, Thalia A. Lugo, Angelina E. Lugo, Arianna Elderkin and Aaron Elderkin; Five siblings, Mabel Santiago (husband Jesus Ramos), Samuel Santiago (wife Ana), Leidiana Lugo (husband Enrique), Belinda Lugo and Dionelis Lugo; nieces and nephews, Anabel LaFontaine, Naomi Rosado, Christian Ramos, Samuel E. Santiago and Christopher D. Santiago.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. (Visitation prior to service from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.)
Facial coverings and social distancing are required. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Rd. Fall River, Massachusetts.
