Lauretta M. (Bousquet) Dion

Lauretta M. (Bousquet) Dion, R.N., 93, formerly
of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, May
17, 2023 in Melville, NY. She was the wife of
the late Raymond R. Dion.
Born in Fall River and a resident for 89 years,
she was the daughter of the late Ephraim and
Lillian (Bourque) Bousquet. During the last four
years, she was living near her daughter on
Long Island.

A dedicated registered nurse with St. Anne’s
Hospital for 42 years, she was educated at
Académie Jesus-Marie and St. Joseph School
of Nursing, Providence, RI. She first worked in
the delivery room and later was the head nurse
of the maternity ward and of the day-surgery
department. She was the “family” nurse and
was always eager to help caring for those
nearby. In addition, she was a very good
seamstress and knitter. Above all, Lauretta
loved being at home with her family and
brothers and sister.

She leaves a daughter, Elaine Giani (husband
Robert); a son, Dr. Michael R. Dion (wife Sally);
4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Formica
(husband Frank), Leah Gordon (husband
Jeremiah), James Dion, and Merisa Dion; a
great-granddaughter, Adriana Formica; and a
brother, Roger Bousquet (wife Jeanne), nieces
and nephews. She was the sister of the late
Therese Laferriere (late husband Raymond),
and the late Rev. Roland Bousquet.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25 from
5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home,
690 South Main St. Fall River.

Lauretta’s funeral will be held Friday, May 26 at
9:00 A.M. from the funeral home with a Funeral
Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd., at
10:00 A.M. Burial following at Notre Dame
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a
donation to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of
Fall River.
