Joseph Armand Bissonnette, 75, of Tiverton, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.
He was the husband of Deborah R. (Varnet) Bissonnette.
Joseph was born in Orlando, Florida to the late Joseph Armand Bissonnette, Sr. and Isabelle (Sylvia) Bissonnette.
He graduated from B.M.C Durfee High School in 1966 and Bristol Community College obtaining an associates degree in The Pre Professional Program in 1977.
Joseph was a proud Marine veteran who served during the Vietnam War from August 1967 thru Mar 1969.
He was owner and operator of J.B. Landscaping for 20 years before early retirement due to health related issues. Joe was a lifelong member of the DAV, Tiverton VFW Post 5392, Tiverton Lions Club and the Marine Corps League. He also volunteered for 17 years for the Swansea Challenger Little League.
Besides his wife of 48 years, he is survived by daughter, Crystal L. (Bissonnette) LaMarche and son Erik J. Bissonnette (wife Natalie). Grandchildren Zander and Quin LaMarche and Jack, William and Annie Cate Bisssonnette as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Bissonnette, Brian Bissonnette, George Gammons, Sarah (Sally) Gammons and Earl Gammons.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.
His funeral will be held Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 A.M. from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass at St Theresa Catholic Church, 265 Stafford Rd, Tiverton, RI, at 11:00 A.M. Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will follow at McGovern’s Family Restaurant, 310 Shove St, Fall River, MA.
