Jose Mota

José Mota, 65, of Fall River, husband of Goretti (Estacio) Mota, passed into eternal rest on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco and Felismina (Aguiar) Mota. José came to Fall River in 1979 and became an American citizen.

He was an employee of Quaker Fabric for many years.

Besides his loving wife of 40 years, he leaves two sons, Gary Mota (wife Melissa) and Kevin Mota;

Three grandchildren, Margarida, Xavier and Owen Mota;

Siblings, Luisa Torres (husband Manuel), Fatima Benavides (husband Manuel), Carlos Mota (wife Maria de Jesus),

Eduarda Silva (husband José), Maria da Conceicao Mota, Luis Mota (wife Saozinha),

Lourdes Sousa (husband Antonio) and Antonio Mota (wife Natalia);

He also leaves his in-laws, Olivia and José, Maria De Jesus & her spouse Joao Avelar and Francisco and Elizabeth Estacio; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St.Fall River, MA. 

His funeral will be held Friday, January 8 , 2021, at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Espirito Santo Church, Alden St.  

Face covering and social distancing required.  

Burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd. Fall River.
