Joao M. Rezendes

     Joao M. Rezendes, 78, of Fall River, husband of Maria D. (Melo) Rezendes, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

     Born in Feteira Pequena, Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Pacheco) Rezendes.

     Joao was formerly employed by Duro Manufacturing.  He was a Benfica Soccer fan.  Joao was a wine enthusiast who made his own wine.  He enjoyed being outside, tending to his grapevines, gardening and fishing.  Also, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He served in the Portuguese Army.

   Besides his wife of 50 years, he leaves two daughters, Diane Furtado (husband Tony) and Kerry Rodrigues (husband Louis); five grandchildren, Ryan Rodrigues (wife Morgan), Kyle Furtado, Jared Rodrigues, Kevin Furtado and Mariah Rodrigues; four great-grandchildren, Jonah, Madelynn, Heath and Louis; three siblings, Sofia Pacheco, Francisca Andrade, Lidia Amaral; many nieces and nephews.  He was also the brother of the late Jose Pacheco.

     A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.

     A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at Good Shepherd Church, South Main St. Fall River, at 10:00 A.M. 

PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH. Face coverings and social distancing required.

     Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
