Imelda Marie (Mercier) Fay, of Conroe, TX, formerly of Fall River, passed away on November 14, 2021 at the age of 102. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Vincent J. Fay. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Emma Mercier, infant daughter Valerie, son Kevin Fay (Cindy), brothers Alphonse, Ernest and Norbert, sisters Terry, Eva, Chris, Mae and Hedy. She is survived by her daughter Melanie Wells (Allen), her grandchildren Philip Armentrout, Chelsea Camacho (Victor) and Curtis Wells III, her sister Jean Bergeron and several nieces and nephews.
“Mel” as everyone called her was a seamstress and retired from Bedford Manufacturing. She performed alterations for friends and neighbors all through her life. She knitted and crocheted until her fingers “just didn’t work right anymore”. She moved to Texas in 2006 and took her first plane ride at 87.
She was a devout Catholic, and member of St. Patrick’s Parish and later St. Mary’s, and said her rosaries many times a day. Mel loved doing word searches, playing cards and Rummikub, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St. Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM with a Funeral Mass following at 10:00 am. at St. Mary's Cathedral, Spring St.. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
