Eleuterio Faria

Eleuterio "Teddy" Faria, 83, of Fall River, husband of the late Dorothy (Costa) Faria, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 after a brief illness.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Alzira (Ferreira) Faria.

He and his wife owned and operated Maplewood Superette, Stafford Rd., Fall River, for 32 years. Teddy was a member of Hut Pigeon Club and bred and raised racing pigeons.  He loved to garden,prune his fruit trees and spend time with his grandchildren. A former soccer player for Fall River Sports Club, he enjoyed watching soccer games. 

He leaves five children, Elizabeth Dunn and her husband Robert of Berkley, Brenda Schieri (late husband Vincent) of Fall River, Susan Nicolau and her husband Dr. David of Fall River, Bryan Faria and his wife Katherine of Texas, and Tricia Faria and her companion Joe Resendes of Fall River; seven grandchildren, Shauna Dunn Baker and her husband Keith, Ryan Dunn and his companion Dana Hopwood, Dr.Samantha Nicolau, Elizabeth Faria, Joshua Treeful, Madeline Faria and Jacob Faria; three great-grandchildren, Jack Baker, Jameson Dunn and Sierra Baker;   3 siblings, Idalatro de Faria, Norman Faria, Adriana Ferreira and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Humberto and Manuel Faria and Emanuela Amaral.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:00 AM.

Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
