Daniel P. Barselou

            Daniel P. Barselou, 85, of Portland, Maine,  formerly of Fall River, MA, husband of Paulette M. (Auclair) Malloch Barselou, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021.

            After working 25 years in the auto body business Mr. Barselou started his own business, Vinyl, Glass and Whitewall Services, doing auto cosmetics and repairs. He was self employed for 40 years prior to retirement due to health issues. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing and cheering on the New England Patriots. His interests were varied and he could discuss any topic. His later years were spent watching TV, most always the Smithsonian and History channels. He was "a friend of Bill W." for 38 years proudly wearing his medallion and sharing the AA program with anyone who would care to listen. He loved all animals and especially his six golden retrievers and his terrier “Buffy” who was at his side as he left this world for the next.

            Besides his wife of 34 years, he leaves four children, Denise Catalfomo (husband Vincent) of Sarasota, FL, Renee Keane Miscioscia (husband Joseph) of Braintree, MA, Carolyn Johnson (husband Richard) of Sarasota, FL and James Barselou of Westport, MA; grandchildren, Logan Fonseca Kilduff (husband Josh) Dana Catalfomo Barnes (husband Kyle) McKenzy Barselou; great-grandchildren, Graison, Jameson and Mia Kilduff and Sadie and Silas Barnes; stepchildren, Vernon Malloch (wife Cindy Packard) of Westbrook, ME and Christine Knutson (husband Edward) of Scarborough, ME; step-grandchildren Melissa Malloch Dash (husband Dustin), Lynn Malloch (husband Spencer Dudley), Chelsi Emmanouil (husband Anthony), Keira Souza, Alyssa Souza, Edward Knutson, Douglas Knutson; step-great-grandchildren, Brayden Lamontagne, Lilliana Reap; sisters, Carol Luz (late husband David) of Fall River, and Claudia Henrique (late husband Charles) of  Lakeville, MA; his former wife Jeanne (Rioux) Cook of Tiverton, RI;  nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Roland Barselou and Rose (Bernier) Barselou Michaud; the brother of the late Roger Barselou (wife Artemisia) and the stepfather of the late Stephen D. Malloch.

            His funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, RI at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private.

             Visitation, Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 390 US Route One, Scarborough ME 04074.
