Alexina (Messier) Lariviere

Alexina (Messier) Lariviere, 92, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021. She was wife of the late Rosaire Lariviere, whom she had been married to for 56 years.

Born in St. Jude, Canada, the daughter of the late George and Rosedelima (Beland) Messier, she resided in Fall River for the past 74 years.

Operating a daycare center while raising her children, she later became a seamstress.  She loved babysitting her grandchildren and was always there for her children.  Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, knitting, singing to children, camping, traveling, playing cards.  She was a member of Big Brothers, Big Sisters, a camping club and enjoyed raising Monarch Butterflies and gardening.

A Eucharistic Minister, she belonged to the former Notre Dame Parish.  Sincere thanks to Kindred Hospice for their excellent care they provided.

She leaves children, Gerald Lariviere (wife Lise), Therese Rachel (late husband Ronald), Normand Lariviere (wife Denise), Lorraine Gendreau (husband Guy), Robert Lariviere (wife Karen) and Claudette Woss (husband Ray); Robin Parent, who she loved as a son; grandchildren, Chris and Tina Rachel, Joseph Lariviere and Marie Fallon, Ashley Casso and Andrew Lariviere, David, Thomas, Susanne Gendreau and Michelle Silva, Matt and Adam Lariviere, Philip Huynh and Jocelyn Hines; great-grandchildren, Nick, Vick, Joey Jr., Amber, Isabella, Jesse, Emma, Charles, Hunter, Evelyn, Henry and Mila.

Her funeral will be held Monday, June 28 at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Church, Hanover St.

Burial, Newport Memorial Park, Middletown. 

          A visitation will be held Sunday, June 27, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
