William “Billy” Solomon, 61, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Saint Luke’s Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Fall River, Billy worked for the City of Fall River in the cemetery department.
A beloved figure known for his unwavering kindness and dedication to helping those in need, Billy was a man of remarkable character, often described as having a heart of gold. He consistently extended a hand to the homeless and anyone else encountering life's difficulties, embodying compassion and generosity throughout his life.
Billy found joy in saltwater fishing. This cherished pastime not only reflected his love for nature but also provided him with tranquility and peace.
In addition to fishing, he took great pride in landscaping — a hobby where he could express his creativity while enhancing the beauty of his surroundings. He was also recognized for his strong work ethic, always putting forth his best effort in every endeavor he undertook.
He leaves his daughter, Cheridan Solomon, and grandson, Mason; his siblings, Charlotte Treeful, Paul Solomon, Theresa Thibault, Nancy Sullivan, Robert Solomon, Raymond Solomon, Jo-Ann Solomon, Rhonda Goulart, Paula Flores, and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Melvin and Margaret (Gajoli) Solomon and the brother of the late Maureen A. Almeida and Harold Solomon.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM with a funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to The First Step Inn , 134 Durfee St. Fall River, MA 02720.
Those who knew Billy will remember him fondly for his gentle demeanor and unwavering support for those around him. His legacy of kindness and hard work will leave a lasting impression on all whose lives he touched.
