Walter D. Ashworth

Walter D. Ashworth, 86, of Charles St., Swansea, died at home, Tuesday, August 30, 2005. He was the husband of Dorothy (Thibault) Ashworth. Born in Worcester, the son of the late John and Edith Ashworth, he lived in Fall River and Swansea for many years. A retired bus driver, he was traffic manager for Short Line and Bonanza Bus Lines, retiring in 1982. Besides his wife of 66 years, survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Mercier and her husband Albert of Swansea; a son, Walter J. Ashworth of Swansea; 3 granddaughters, Robin Rusnock, Michelle Rabbitt and Susan Mercier; 7 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Milford Ashworth, Florence Barlow and Ruth Fitcher. Private funeral arrangements are by the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
