Thomas F. Bourque, 81, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at St. Anne’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was employed as a security guard for various companies throughout his career. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served with the 324th Signal Battalion during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Tom enjoyed reading repair and “how-to-fix-it” books and had a remarkable talent for repairing anything electronic. He was always happiest when he could solve a problem with his hands. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Tom brought laughter to those around him. He also loved cooking, shopping, and spending time with family. Tom deeply loved his cat, Princess, who was his faithful companion for 14 years and brought him many years of comfort, companionship, and happiness. He truly treasured the special bond they shared.
Of all the joys in his life, none meant more to Tom than his great-niece, Kayla DeLemos. He adored her and proudly loved and cared for her as though she were his own granddaughter. Whether they were spending time together, sharing laughs, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Kayla brought him immeasurable happiness and purpose. The bond they shared was one of unconditional love, and she remained one of the greatest blessings of his life.
He is survived by his brother, James “Jim” Bourque and his wife, Doris, of Swansea; his nieces and nephews, Christopher Bourque (companion Kimberly Lepage), Carrie DeLemos and her husband, Joseph , Kimberly Diomede and her husband, Paul, and Blair A. Mailloux (companion Nathan Paulhus); and Shannon Evans and her husband Dave, his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayla DeLemos, Cassidy Shea, and the triplets, Oliver, Cormac, and Samuel Diomede; as well as his dear friend, Brenda Beaulieu.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Jo-Ann Mailloux and Gloria Sisung. Tom was the beloved son of the late Frank and Lillian (Goyette) Bourque.
