Therese Y. Blanchette

Therese Y. (Carrier) Blanchette, 97, a resident of Swansea since 1960, passed away August 1, 2026 at Saint Anne's Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Normand Blanchette. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Oscar N. Carrier and Yvonne (Pariseau) Carrier. 

Therese was employed as a nurse's aide for both Hattie Ida Chaffe Nursing Home in East Providence and Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren. She was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She was the mother of Dianne S. St.Pierre, Denise S. Fitta (husband Robert), Jeanne M. Margeson (husband Robert A.) and the late Richard A. Blanchette; She was the sister of the late Joseph, John and Edward Carrier. She also leaves her grandchildren, Sherrie Anne Breslin, Melissa Fitta, Brian St.Pierre, Timothy St.Pierre and Kimberly Lambert (husband Shaun); Therese also had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be held in the mausoleum of Notre Dame Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Friends and family should meet around the area between the lower (old) mausoleum and the garage.
