Stephen M. Niles, 66, passed away at home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, after an illness.
Stephen dedicated many years of his life to his career as a carpenter in the Union, where he played a significant role in the construction of notable projects such as the Point St. Bridge and Sakonnet River Bridge. He was taught his carpentry skills from his father. He was a great chef who loved to cook, a talent that he learned from his mother.
He attended B.M.C. Durfee High School and had served in the Army.
Stephen had a passion for fishing and found joy in simple pleasures, often enjoying quiet afternoons sitting on his couch, watching football while savoring his favorite Budweiser beer.
He is survived by his children, Amy Ferreira (husband John), Victoria Niles (fiancé Cameron Syliva), Craig Oliviera, and Lisa Roberts; his father, Raymond Niles Jr.(companion Madelinie Clarkson); his sisters, Kathleen M. Niles Antone (husband Robert) and Michele M. Niles; He was the grandfather to Chloe Ferreira, Wyatt Sylvia, and Kyle and Kaila Roberts. and a "brother" to Russell Croteau. Additionally, he leaves behind his beloved dogs, Luna, the Labrador Retriever and Willow, the Shih Tzu.
Stephen is predeceased by his mother, Carol A. (Fairhurst) Niles, and his sister, Carol Ann Niles.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a funeral service during the visitation, at 5:30 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main Street, Fall River.
