Stephen R. Furman

Stephen R. Furman, 72, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Miriam Hospital, Providence. Born in Fall River, Steve was the son of the late Stephen J. and Victoria (Kraska) Furman. A graduate of the Bradford Durfee College of Technology, he taught at Morton Junior High School and was Administrative Assistant to Mayor Roland G. Desmarais. He then founded and was CEO of the Furman Co., Providence, retiring in 2002. He leaves 2 sisters, Arlene Larkin of Miami Lakes, FL and June Silvia and her husband Leonard of Westport, MA; a brother, Edward Furman and his wife Leslie of Tiverton, RI; a dear friend, Elizabeth Rutkowski and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
