Shirley B. Grota

Shirley B. (Luxo) Grota, 90, of Tiverton, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was the companion of Norman O. Lavoie.

Born in Fall River, Shirley was the daughter of John and Josephine (Plante) Luxo. Shirley was the mother of the late Lt. Gerald R. Leduc, TFD, and the sister of the late Lucille Botelho (late husband George).

A cherished member of her community, Shirley was well-known for her dedication and passion within the beauty industry. She owned and operated Shirley's Beauty Salon, where she built lasting relationships with her clientele and fostered a welcoming atmosphere. In addition to her salon, Shirley also contributed her talents at Karen Ann Manufacturing, showcasing her diverse skills and work ethic.

Shirley was not only an accomplished businesswoman but also an active participant in the Fall River Cosmetology Association, emphasizing her commitment to her profession and involvement in the local community. Her love for her work was matched by her devotion to her family and friends.

Besides her beloved companion, she is survived by her grandsons, Michael Leduc, his wife Brittany and Jonathan Leduc, former daughter in law Diane Leduc, her husband Thomas Provost; her companion Norman's daughter Annette Camara, her children Aires and Brian Camara, Norman's children, Paul Lavoie and Paulette Lavoie, her son Robert and Norman's brother Andy Lavoie.

Shirley was the aunt and best friend of the late June L. Cook (late husband Bob), mother of Jason S. Griffin (companion Stephanie Oliveira) and the late John M. Griffin.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 1st from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
