Roy Jorge Teixeira, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. His sudden loss has left his family deeply saddened and shocked. Roy was born on August 18th , 1960, in the Azores and moved as a young child to Fall River, Massachusetts, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and dedication.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Helena (Amaral) Teixeira, and his daughters, Jocelyn (Teixeira) Souza (fiancé Jorge Pinero) and Jacquelyn Teixeira (companion Eric Pacheco). He was the cherished grandfather of Teagan, Tessa, and Theo, and the beloved brother of David Teixeira (wife Mary) and Maria Lemaire (husband Paul). Roy also leaves behind many beloved sisters- and brothers-in-law, including Arthur Amaral, with whom he spent many Saturday nights in the garage, enjoying old tunes and good company. Married on August 27th, 1988, Roy and Helena shared 37 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Roy’s memory lives on through his many nieces and nephews, especially Brian Teixeira and Justin Amaral, with whom he shared a special bond. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Steve DeMello and Tommy Medeiros, with whom he shared decades of laughter and camaraderie.
Roy was predeceased by his parents, Luis T. Silva and Irene T. Melo (Silva).
Roy met Helen during a rainy evening at their shared workplace, Louis Hand, offering her his umbrella, a gesture that began a lifetime of love. He found immense joy in cooking for his family, especially weekend breakfasts and holiday meals, and treasured visits to Florida to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren. He played an active role in Jocie and Jackie’s childhoods, teaching them to ride bikes, swim, and fish. He adored his eldest granddaughter Teagan, sharing ice cream, music, and mini-golf adventures. He was looking forward to being able to play football with his grandson Theo, and watching his granddaughter, Tessa, learn to walk.
Professionally, Roy dedicated many years to the Fall River Career Center, helping others find meaningful employment. He was a proud and hardworking man who valued his role in the community. In his free time, Roy enjoyed long walks, gardening, and going to the beach, swimming, fishing, and catching clams. He was a passionate sports fan, a proud member of The Green Miler Golf League, and an enthusiastic participant in fantasy football, always cheering for his beloved New England Patriots.
Roy was known for his vibrant conversations and infectious laughter. He had a gift for making people smile. His legacy of love, and humor will live on in all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River, with a funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect St, Fall River, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that plants be brought to the funeral to honor Roy’s life. These will be planted by those who loved him, continuing his legacy in living, growing memory.
