Ronald “Rocky” Paul LaForest, Sr., a beloved figure in the Fall River community, passed away on November 9, 2024 following a tragic accident.
He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Leduc) LaForest.
Born on April 13, 1954, in Fall River, Ronald grew to become a dedicated cook in the restaurant industry, honing his culinary skills at the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in the Culinary Arts.
Ronald also a devoted family man, leaving behind six children: Tim Hurd with wife Amy Hurd of South Carolina, Ronald LaForest Jr. of Fall River, Daniel LaForest with fiancée Nicole Carvalho of North Dartmouth, Cynthia LaForest of Assonet, Christopher LaForest with fiancée Jessica Smith of Fall River, and Crystal LaForest with fiancé Kevin Cashman of Fall River. His legacy continues through his cherished grandsons, Anthony LaForest, Jayden Cashman, Dylan LaForest, and Shane LaForest as well as his granddaughter Kiva Cashman.
In addition to his immediate family, Ronald is survived by his siblings Lorraine Machado, Donna Mae, Chester, and Eugene “Whitey” LaForest, and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and generosity.
Ronald had a passion for life and enjoyed fishing, riding his scooter along the Quequechan bike path, and camping, pursuits that brought him joy and tranquility.
Ronald also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, and horror movies in his spare time.
He was the brother of the late Ann A. Allard, John ”Bunker” LaForest, Jr., Robert, Kenneth, Joan LaForest, and Richard Cisek, in addition to his parents, John B. LaForest, Sr. and Joan (Cisek) LaForest.
Ronald's spirit will be forever cherished by those who knew him, and his contributions to family and friends will resonate for years to come.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with burial following at Notre Dame Cemetery.
