With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Roland Gedeon Bileau on August 3, 2025, in his 84th year.
He was the loving and devoted husband of Madeleine A. Bileau for over 52 years; a cherished father to Marc
Bileau of Woodville, AL, Susan Pope (Scott Pope) of Madison, AL, and Eric Bileau (Gina Bileau) of Naples, FL; and
a wonderful brother and friend to many. He passed peacefully and was ready to be with God.
Born in Fall River, MA, on March 2, 1941, Roland loved his birthplace and lived there for most of his life.
Participating in civic organizations and owning a business were both important and rewarding parts of his life.
Notably, he owned the Fall River Ambulance Service and Fall River Chair Car Service for many years; and was an
active member and past president of the Richelieu Club of Fall River, the Massachusetts Ambulance Association,
as well as a member of the Rotary Club.
His later years took him to Tucson, AZ, for six years, and to Madison, AL, for thirteen years to live near his
daughter and her family.
Roland enjoyed travel, flower gardening, and photography—but his greatest joy was always time spent with his
family and friends. Whether helping grandchildren with homework, enjoying a family dinner, playing cribbage
with friends, or traveling back to Fall River, people mattered most.
He had a can-do spirit, loved to sing, and looked for the good around him rather than complain. He will be
greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Madeleine Bileau; his parents, Wilfred Bileau and Marianne Bileau (née
Tessier); and his sister Vivianne Chouinard.
Cherished grandfather of Tucker Bileau, Emmie Bileau, Katryna Kofton, Kayla Kofton Bileau, Samuel Pope, and
Robyn Pope. Dear brother to Noella Audette, Aline Belanger, Jeannette Rivera, and Helene Dellert. Fondly
remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend to Paul Chasse, Bobby Benevides, and Tony
Benevides.
A memorial Mass in his honor will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1055 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL 35758,
on Tuesday, August 19th. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. A repast lunch for
all attending will immediately follow in the Parish Hall.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in his name to:
