Roger Paul Bouchard, age 78, passed away on October 3, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann (Cabral) Bouchard, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, Roger was the son of the late Paul and Rose (Vermette) Bouchard.
Roger served honorably in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and dedication. Throughout his career, he worked as a truck driver for Coca-Cola for 33½ years before retiring. He then continued working part-time at Mallard Printing and Fisher Auto Parts. He was known for a strong work ethic and spent many years in roles that called for reliability and perseverance. Beyond his career, Roger was a committed member of the AMVETS, American Legion, and Elks Club.
Outside of work, Roger found happiness in a wide range of interests. He loved fishing and boating, shooting pool, playing card games, especially Texas Hold’em, and cooking. He also enjoyed shooting and was a member of the New Bedford and Somerset Rod & Gun Clubs. He generously gave his time to the community, volunteering as a Little League baseball coach and coaching basketball for the Catholic Youth Organization. He also had a love of boxing and spent time teaching his son, Paul, through PAL. Above all of his hobbies, accomplishments, and interests, Roger’s greatest joy was his family.
Along with his loving wife, Patricia, Roger is survived by his children, Lisa Laviolette, Melissa Bouchard, Scott Bouchard, and Paul Bouchard and his companion, Jessica Raposo; his grandchildren, Samantha Copponi and her husband, Mark, Timothy Alexander, Kasey Laviolette and her husband, Alexander, Christian Bouchard, Zachery Laviolette, and Emily Bouchard; and his great-grandchildren, Colby and Wren Copponi.
He is also survived by his siblings, Rene Bouchard, Pauline Canuel and her husband, Rick, and Rose Marie Bell and her husband, Bobby, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roger will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and the many lives he touched throughout his 78 years. His memory will live on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless stories and memories they will carry with them.
His visitation will be announced shortly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Roger’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
