Robert L. Fontaine

Feb 16, 1937 - October 07, 2015 Robert L. Fontaine (BOB), 78, of Fall River and Las Vegas passed away October 7, 2015. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Rita and Albert Fontaine, Sr. Bob served in the US Army, 8th. Infantry Division with the 41st. tank battalion. He was stationed in Germany during the "Cold War" from 1956 to 1958. He was known as "Frenchy" to his fellow soldiers. Prior to enlisting in the Army he served in the National Guard. Owned and operated the The Pool Doctor swimming pool service. He is survived by three sons, Michael & wife Christine of Fall River, Stephen & wife Diane of Fall River and Kurt of Fairhaven. Three sisters, Blanche Aguiar of Rumney, NH, Lorraine Munroe of Berkley and Anne Dias of Westport, one brother, Albert Fontaine of Westport; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Elaine Rioux of Westport and the late Beatrice Vasconcellos. He had also attended culinary school and enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends. Following cremation, his funeral mass will be held Saturday afternoon, October 24, at the Chapel of Santo Christo Church at 5:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Auclair Funeral Home.
