Robert F. Couture, 75, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on May 6, 1950, in Fall River, Robert was a cherished member of his community and a beloved brother and uncle.
Robert's career began in the textile industry, then he joined his sister Barbara and her husband in their business, J&J Linen.
An Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Robert served our country honorably for four years, primarily stationed in Okinawa as an aircraft electrician, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Robert enjoyed playing Keno at AJ's Bar on East Main Street, where he relished the company of his many friends. These moments of camaraderie defined his spirit, embodying his zest for life and the joy he found in community.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Janet Clark (husband Kenneth), and Lee Ann Couto, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Oliva W. Couture, FRPD, Retired, his mother, Eleanor (Clunan) Couture, and his sister, Barbara Lanigan. Each of these losses left its mark on his life, yet he carried their memory with him always.
In this time of mourning, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jana, a nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital, for her gentle and compassionate care during Robert's final hours.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Cemetery, Robeson St. Fall River.
