Rita M. St. Pierre, 85, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Bella B. (Emond) Boissonneau and Edgar O. "Pete" Boissonneau, and the former wife of the late Maurice St. Pierre.
Rita dedicated much of her life to caring for others, a calling she fulfilled both professionally and personally. She worked for many years at Raytheon before later becoming a caregiver at a local group home, where she provided compassionate support to mentally ill patients. She poured her heart into everything she did and was a constant source of love and encouragement to those around her.
Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed playing video games—particularly Spyro the Dragon—with her grandson Zach. One of her greatest joys was bringing her granddaughter Kamryn into her circle of card-playing friends, a gesture that showed just how much her family meant to her. She could always be counted on for a listening ear, a warm hug, and a smile that could brighten even the darkest day.
Rita had a passion for life that shone through in every interaction. She loved playing cards with her friends at the Bates Apartments and brought joy and laughter wherever she went. With her radiant smile and positive demeanor, she had a special gift for making people feel seen, loved, and uplifted. Rita was a nurturer at heart and found true fulfillment in bringing happiness to others. Her selflessness and unwavering love made her a beacon of light to everyone who knew her.
She was the mother of five children: Maurice "Moe" St. Pierre, Keith St. Pierre, Kimberly Berg, and the late Robin Furtado and Mark St. Pierre. She was the cherished grandmother of Jazmin T. St. Pierre, Jade K. St. Pierre, Mason Rioux, Zachary Fernandes, Kamryn Berg, Joshua Furtado (wife Deonna), Courtney Johnson (husband Larry), Samantha St. Pierre, and Tristan St. Pierre. She was the proud great-grandmother of Parker Johnson, Riley Johnson, Shelby Furtado, Gaige Furtado, and Oliver Pankowski.
Rita was the sister of Paulette Gadoury (husband Leo), the late Gerald R. Boissonneau, and the late Roger E. Boissonneau. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Rita’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was a truly beautiful and selfless soul, and the world is a better place for having had her in it.
