Rita E. Morin

Rita E. (Marceau) Morin, 94, of Westport MA, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and devoted community member, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Ovila S. Marceau and Rhea (Harrison) Marceau. Rita dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a Home Health Aide after being a member of the inaugural class at the Homemaker-Home Health Aide Service of Greater Fall River while diligently completing her GED high school education.

As a young lady she worked at Bristol Knitting Mills, where she met her future husband, Charlie.

Rita was married for 52 wonderful years to her late husband, Charles G. Morin, with whom she shared many beautiful memories. Together, they formed a partnership that was marked by love, laughter, and countless shared moments, including their time spent as active members of the Newport Bowling League and the Share Program of St. Anne's.

Rita is survived by her loving sons, Dennis A. Morin (wife Diane) and Paul C. Morin, and her granddaughter, Deanna Marie-Morin Benjamin (husband Derek); and a brother, Albert Marceau, nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Normand O. Marceau.

Rita had a special bond with her cousins, enjoying visits that were filled with laughter and stories.

In addition to her family, Rita found joy in her community engagements. She was a proud member of the Classy Ladies and the Westport Senior Center, where she enjoyed friendships that enriched her life. One of her favorite pastimes was bowling; she competed in the Newport Bowling League, where her competitive spirit and tenacity were always on full display.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, August 27, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd. Westport, at 10:00 AM.

Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
