Rita B. Henrique

Rita B. Henrique, 88, passed away on Friday December 5, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Rita was a seamstress in the sewing mills in Fall River with her sister Marie and a caretaker for many years before finishing her career as a housekeeper at the Hanover House at the age of 70.

Her presence immediately charmed any room she entered. Fashionable clothes, elegant earrings, and vibrant lipstick were staples of her spirit. In her earlier years, she enjoyed reading, going to the movies, and watching musical theater. Her love of music was a constant throughout

her life, she often listened to Andrea Bocelli and ABBA. From Red Sox Games to Jai Alai, she was always watching sports on her big screen television.

After years of hard work and sacrificing everything for her children, she finally got to relax. She loved eating clam cakes at Flo’s overlooking the ocean, warming up with clam chowder at Blount’s, and enjoying the classic hot dog and ice cream at Frate’s Drive-in. In her spare time, she found herself playing bingo and slot machines at the casino. Each scratch ticket, whether it was won or lost, would bring a smile to her face. She always appreciated the little things in life from a simple cup of coffee to a hug from her family. In all her years, she created a whole world of love.

Rita is survived by her children: Cynthia Solomon, Sandra Greenwood, Robert A. Henrique Jr., and Rebecca Ayers. Her legacy is continued through her adored grandchildren Austin Greenwood, Bree Mann, Hailey Henderson, Brendan Henrique, Jillian Henrique, Autumn Ayers, and her great granddaughter Avery Henderson.

Rita now reunites with her beloved husband Robert A. Henrique Sr., who preceded her in death, along with her parents, Leo W. Lapointe and Isabella B. Lapointe, and her sister Marie Bernier.

Private arrangements will be held by the Auclair Funeral Home.
