Rene E. Allard, 90, a devoted family man, respected veteran, and accomplished professional, passed away on April 22, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born on September 16, 1935, in Fall River, he lived a life marked by dedication to his community, career, and loved ones.
Rene graduated from Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, laying the foundation for a career characterized by leadership and commitment. He proudly served his country as a Military Police officer during the Korean War.
Following his military service, Rene dedicated 25 years as a District Manager for Coca-Cola. Upon retirement from Coca-Cola, he continued contributing to his community by working at Economy Liquors on North Main Street.
Rene shared a love for gardening with his beloved wife, Madelyn Allard, to whom he was married for 65 years. He was also an avid golfer and a loyal New England Patriots fan, finding joy in these pastimes throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Madelyn Allard; cherished grandsons, Michael Sweeney, USCG and Sean Sweeney, USARNG; and treasured great-granddaughters, Scarlett and Everleigh. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews including Doug Allard, who would come to watch the New England Patriots games with Rene every weekend.
Rene was the father of the late Susan Sweeney, son of the late Arthur and Exelia (Beauregard) Allard, and the brother of the late Paul, George, Henry, Albert, Gerald, Exelia, Delia, Eva, and Anita. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.
