Oscar H. Bissaro

Oscar Henry Bissaro, 90, of Swansea, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was the husband of Phyllis V. (Atkinson) Bissaro, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Celina (Gamache) and Augusta Bissaro.

Oscar was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He also served full time for over 20 years in the Air Force as a Military Police Officer and K9 trainer and handler, earning the rank of Airman, First Class.

He enjoyed music, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda Schmitt, son Dino Bissaro; stepchildren Kathren Duff, Kevin Jennings, and Steven Barreira; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Oscar was the brother of the late Amelita R. Houlne and Dino A. Bissaro.

His committal service with military honors will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in the Spring.
