Oliverio M. Couto, 72, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023. He was the husband of Maria Natalia (Torres) Couto. He worked for American Dryer for many years and retired from Thurston Manufacturing. A member of Espirito Santo Parish, he sang in the choir for over 40 years. He was a member of SCA and was a Benfica soccer fan. A family man, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He took great pride in his yard work.
Oliverio served in the Portuguese Army during the African War.
Born in Achidina, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Evangelina (Moniz) Couto.
Beside his wife of 49 years, he leaves three sons, Jeffrey Couto (wife Tania), Brian Couto (fiancée Melinda Vieira) and Scottie Couto (wife Christina); grandchildren, Brianna, Alexandria, Jace, Kai, Arianna and was the grandfather of the late Evan and Christian; siblings, Arthur Couto, Evangelina Amaral, Gilbert Couto and was the brother of the late Jose, Jorge, Edward and Maria Couto; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 23 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St.Fall River.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 24, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass in Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery.
