Fall River

LT. Michael R. LePage, F.R.F.D, 65, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Orient J. and Ann Marie (Gauthier) LePage.

Michael graduated from BMC Durfee High School, received an associate’s degree in mechanical design and drafting from New England Technology, and then graduated from the Fire Academy, setting the stage for his life's work.

Michael was deeply committed to his work as a firefighter, serving the Fall River community for thirty-one years, from 1993 to 2024. Throughout his career, he served on Ladder 2 and Ladder 9, earning a promotion to Lieutenant in 2006. He was known for his dependability, professionalism, and the genuine care he extended to the people he served. His reliable presence and readiness to help others earned him the respect and gratitude of his colleagues and neighbors alike.

He was deeply proud of his community's history and channeled that passion into helping found the Fall River Fire Museum, where he also served as President. His vision and leadership helped build the museum from the ground up, ensuring that the stories, artifacts, and legacy of the Fall River Fire Department would be preserved for years to come.

A devout Catholic, Christ was the center of Michael’s life, guiding his steps and inspiring his generous spirit. He poured his heart into everything he did and every gift he gave, always seeking to bring joy to others. He was very close with his family, who meant the absolute world to him.

In his free time, he was happiest sharing his favorite pastimes with his loved ones and friends. Michael was an exceptionally talented woodworker, a passion that culminated in him building his beloved cabin in Maine with his own two hands. The cabin held a special place in his heart, providing a peaceful place to get away, relax, enjoy the outdoors, and make lasting memories with his friends. Together, they also traveled to sightsee, spent weekends camping, and never missed the excitement of a NASCAR race.

Michael also had a lifelong passion for German Shepherds. Throughout his lifetime, his four faithful companions, Fritz, Gretchen, Zella, and Sadie brought him immense joy and comfort.

Michael is survived by his siblings, Daniel R. LePage, Debra A. Ashworth (husband Philip M.), and Stephen LePage (wife Linda); his brother-in-law, Mathew Vangel (husband of the late Jacqueline M); his nieces, Brittany A. Adams (husband Thomas M.), Lauren M. Holiday (husband Christopher J.), Kayla A. Vangel (husband James R.), and Katie LePage; his great-nieces, Haley A. Adams, Aubrey J. Adams, and Macey R. Adams; and his great-nephews, Christopher J. Holiday Jr. and Benjamin E. Holiday.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River.
