Matthew A. Drewniak, 83, of Tiverton passed away Tuesday, December 7th 2021. He was the devoted and adoring husband of (Jackie Rousseau) Drewniak, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Matthew was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Matthew P. and Jane (Sienko) Drewniak. He was the brother of Joan Machado and the late Paul Drewniak. He graduated from Diman Vocational High School, where he studied carpentry and millwork. Matthew then went on to serve in the United States Army for three years as a combat engineer. He retired as a union carpenter and spent many years working as a construction job superintendent.
Matthew will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and love for people. He enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Royal Travelers club. He was an avid sports fan, loved his New England Teams and was a big PC Friars supporter. Matthew loved his Polish American roots, traditions, and food. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life and he loved playing family games with them. Matthew is survived by his wife, two daughters, Denise Pare (husband Michael) and Michelle Footit (husband Ron); and his loving grandchildren, Jenna, Trevor, and Rachel Pare. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 10th from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
