Maria P. Costa

Maria (Pacheco) Costa, 93, of Fall River, wife of the late Carlos DaCosta, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

She was born in Bretanha, Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores.

Maria arrived in Fall River from the Azores in 1978 and was a devout Catholic.

She worked in various factories. Maria loved cooking and gardening, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She leaves three children, Carlos A. Costa (companion Fernanda M. Rego), Maria N. Amaral (husband Helder) and Jose M. Costa (late wife Gail) all of Fall River; nine grandchildren, Kenneth, Scotty, Stephanie, CJ, Tyler, Kelsey, Kyara, Dominic and Angel; eight great-grandchildren, Sacred, Christian, Serenity, Kennedi, Ariah, Audrey, Anabella, Londyn and Jaylen; and a 10th unborn great-grandchild; five siblings, Mariana Farias, Sophia Baptista, Beatrice Oliveira,, Helena Rego and John Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Francisco Pacheco, Jose Pacheco and Hilda Camara and the daughter of the late Francisco Pacheco and Beatrice D’Oliveira.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 3, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 4, at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at Espirito Santo Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
