Maria A. Oliveira

Maria A. Oliveira, 88,  of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Catholic Memorial Home, where she lived for the past seven years. Maria was the wife of the late Manuel F. Oliveira.

Born on November 30, 1936, in São Tomé, St. Jorge, Azores, Maria brought warmth and kindness to all those around her.

A garment worker, she was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was known for her friendly demeanor and her willingness to help anyone in need. A person of great generosity, she would give the shirt off her back to those less fortunate.

Maria was also cherished for her love of baking. She enjoyed sharing her homemade treats with her neighbors, often leaving them on door knobs as thoughtful surprises. These small acts of kindness were a testament to her caring nature and the joy she found in fostering community spirit.

She is survived by her daughter, Azelia M. Silva, and her son-in-law, Luis M. Silva, her granddaughter, Catrina M. Silva, her siblings Maria Livramento Luis, Elvira Silva, Maria J. Pinheiro, Maria Ameilia Fuentes, Maria Avelar, Manuel A. Silva, and Joao Silva. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Silva and Rosa (Goncalves) Silva.

Maria’s life will be honored with a visitation on October 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Auclair Funeral Home, located at 690 South Main Street, Fall River, MA 02721. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, 185 Canal Street, Fall River, MA 02721.

Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
