Maria J. (Lopes) DaSilva

Maria J. (Lopes) DaSilva, 91, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She was the wife of the late Joao DaSilva.

Born in Arrifes, Ponta Delgada, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Lopes and Maria Teodora Lopes.

Maria worked as a seamstress for many years and was part of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. She enjoyed spending her time gardening and planting flowers, but above all, she loved being with her family. 

She is survived by her loving children, Marie Pelletier (husband Ernest), Antonio DaSilva, Juliana Pereira (husband Walter); her grandchildren, Lori DaSilva, Ryan Camara (wife Megan), Antonio DaSilva, Jr., Katelyn Cabral (wife Hilary); and her great-grandchildren, Emerson Cabral and Declan Camara. She was predeceased by her grandson Andrew Camara; and by her siblings Clotilde Amarelo, Duarte Lopes, Arsenio Lopes, Daciel Lopes, and Luis Lopes.

Her Visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:15 A.M., in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fall River, at 10:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
