Maria H. (Lourenco) Tavares

Maria H. (Lourenco) Tavares, 89, of Fall River, passed away, on Saturday, October 31, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Jose Jacinto Tavares. 

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the the daughter of the late Jose Oliveira and Matilde (Carvalho) Lourenco. 

Maria was a garment worker for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, and loved to cook for her family. 

She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Tavares (wife Lucy), Matilde Amaral, Isabel Nadeau (husband Craig); her grandchildren, Jason Amaral (wife Kristen), Ryan Amaral (wife Jenna Amaral, Debbie Pimental (husband Jonathan), Timothy Tavares, Alyssa Nadeau; her great- granchildren, Elliot Amaral, Owen Amaral, Ava Amaral, Ryan Amaral Jr., Gavin Pimental, Lana Pimentel, Caleb Tavares; and her brother, John Carlos Carvalho Lourenco. 

Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at church on, Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., at the Santo Christo Parish, 240 Columbia St, Fall River. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
