Maria "Gilda" Guilherme

Maria "Gilda" Guilherme, born on December 2, 1927, in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025 in Fall River, Massachusetts. 

Gilda was a machine operator in the garment industry of Fall River, where she also a member of the International Garment Workers Union. 

She is survived by her son, Louis M. Raposo and his wife Margaret; a daughter, Maria Carreiro; her grandchildren, Jennifer Aguiar (husband William), and Kim Busa (husband Richard); her great-granchildren, Dylan Aguiar, Lillianna Busa, and Hannah Aguiar. 

Gilda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Guilherme, and her dear parents, Manuel and Julietta (Reis) Rodrigues.

Her Funeral Mass was held on December 29, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Church with burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
