Maria Angela (Medeiros) Costa

Maria Angela (Medeiros) Costa, affectionately known as Angie, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, on her 80th birthday, at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in São Roque, São Miguel, Açores, in 1946, she lived a life dedicated to family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Humberto Oliveira Costa, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage; two sons, Paul Costa and his wife Nelia and Christopher Costa and his signifcant other Heather Martin; three grandchildren, Sophia Costa Cunha and her husband Matthew Cunha, Nathan Costa and his signifcant other Maddison Fiola, Dakota Costa, and her honorary grandchildren, Alexi, Courtney, Sydney Martin; sister Maria Celeste Perreira (late husband Dimas Perreira); and Goddaughter, Maria Fatima Pimental. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in the United States, São Miguel, and Canada, as well as a wide circle of dear friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, kindness, and enduring friendship.

She was the sister of the late Jose Medeiros (his surviving wife Margardia Medeiros) and Joao Manuel Medeiros (his surviving wife Albertina Medeiros).

Angie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Manuel Medeiros and Maria Amelia Medeiros.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main Street, Fall River.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard Church, Assonet, 30 South Main Street, Assonet. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
