Manuel P. Felix

January 21, 1957 — July 29, 2025

Fall River

Manuel P. Felix, 68 of Fall River, a cherished family man, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the dedicated husband of Palmira L. (Farias) Felix, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on January 21, 1957 in the small village of Candelária, Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel, Azores.

After moving to Fall River, he worked as an electrician for 15 years at Tillotson Pearson Inc. in Warren, RI. He later became a bus driver for Furtado Bus Line and ultimately found his dream job as a bus driver at SRTA, a position he held dear to his heart. He retired after 10 years due to his illness.

Manuel was truly devoted to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and found great joy in the presence of his grandchildren. Another great joy was his loyal dog Buddy, his best friend and partner in crime who is now left to watch over his wife, Palmira.

Manuel’s interests were as diverse as they were vibrant. He was a wine enthusiast who delighted in exploring different varieties. He enjoyed watching his favorite soccer team Benfica and had a passion for NASCAR. He cherished vacations with his wife, particularly fond of the cruises they enjoyed together with friends and family. In his younger years, he played soccer for Furnas Alem Fronteiras and deck hockey for both the Cobras and the Fall River Black Hawks. He also dedicated many years as a soccer referee for CISA.

Besides his beloved wife Palmira, he leaves his daughters Stephanie LaForce (husband Mark) and Melinda Marie Sousa (husband Victor); grandchildren Ethan and Jenna LaForce, Aaron and Kendra Sousa; his sisters Maria Lorena Borges, Maria Leonor Silva and Maria Ramos Pereira (husband Jesse); several nieces and nephews; and his beloved godchild Joshua DeMelo.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, João and Theresa (Ponte) Felix.
