Lucy (Borges) Branco

Lucy Borges Branco, 65, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2026. Born in Saint Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jaime Borges and Libania (Pimentel) Borges.

Lucy devoted many years as a yarn spooler at Quaker Fabric. She was cherished as a caregiver and beloved Vavo, always placing others above herself and earning the love of everyone she knew.

She is survived by her daughter, Gorette McDonald and her husband Steve; granddaughters, Haley and Lily McDonald; her brother, Manuel Borges and his wife Rose; a nephew, Logan Borges, a niece, Sophia Borges; sister-in-law, Julia Borges, wife of late brother Norberto Borges and extended family

She was predeceased by her brother, Norberto Borges, and her companion, Jose M. Tavares.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River. A Funeral Mass will follow at Santo Christo Church at 11:00 AM, with burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
